You are currently working as a researcher in the Research and Development Department of a large national trucking company that delivers food shipments across the United States. The company has 4 Regional HQs (North – Milwaukee, South – Atlanta, East – Pittsburgh, and West – San Francisco) It appears that autonomous driving trucks are the future and the CEO is concerned about how this new technology may impact the company in a possible paradigm shift. You have been designated the facilitator for the project. You task is to determine the feasibility and impact of autonomous driving trucks/semis on your company if a paradigm shift occurs. The futuring tool of choice is the Delphi Technique. I want you to explain how you would go about using the Delphi Technique to determine the feasibility and impact of autonomous driving trucks on the company. Obviously, you will not complete a Delphi Technique project from beginning to end. I do, however want you to develop the initial steps of the project to include: Define the problem. Identify who you will select for your panel of experts and explain your rationale for selecting each person. How many experts will you put on your panel and why? What is the main question to be asked of the panel members in the first round. What methodology will you use? A questionnaire (open or closed ended) or survey? Explain you reasoning for selecting the particular methodology. What means of communication will you use to communicate with the panel of experts and why? Explain what you will do once you receive responses to the first question and the subsequent steps required to complete the Delphi Technique process with some detail.
